About Casa del Herrero
Known as one of the finest examples of Spanish Colonial architecture in the country, you will be amazed from the moment you set foot on the grounds of Casa del Herrero. The 1925 residence was designed by renowned architect George Washington Smith, and features stunning furnishings and impeccable details throughout. The name Casa del Herrero (“House of the Blacksmith”) was given to the property by the original owner, George Fox Steedman. With help from other architects, horticulturists, and antique collectors, Steedman played a key role in the house’s design. Now, this grand Spanish estate draws visitors from all over the world!
Tours at Casa del Herrero
When you take a guided tour of Casa del Herrero, you’ll feel like you have been transported to a previous era. Take a stroll through the historic house and gardens, past incredible works of art, and around the Moorish-style gardens. As your local guide leads you past all of the main points of interest, you’ll also learn about the estate’s rich history. You can sign up for a tour on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. throughout the year. These 90-minute tours require an advance reservation and admission is just $25 per person. Admission for Casa del Herrero Christmas tours is $30.
